The power of lavender

Lavender is a plant with woody stems, long, narrow leaves, and small violet-blue flowers. Lavender is known for the aroma it gives off.

Lavender grows in stony areas and in dry and clay soils, in gardens and pots, it needs a lot of light and direct sun, in winter Lavender retains heat and tolerates the cold well.

In addition to relieving tension and promoting calm, lavender is used for various purposes, with excellent results: it is healing, relieving pain of the body and soul.

Lavender facilitates deep sleep, reduces anxiety, dissipates migraines and emotional fatigue. It improves circulation, helps cure respiratory problems and regulates heart rate. Increases cognitive capacity. Lavender helps restore hormonal balance. Reduces the risk of urinary infections, improves digestion and strengthens the immune system.

It can be used to improve skin conditions and wounds: it disinfects the skin and scalp. It repels insects and can be used to treat inflammation caused by their bites. Improves healing and helps treat conditions such as acne and psoriasis. Helps fight dandruff and prevent hair loss.

Certain types of precautions should also be taken with lavender; pregnant women and nursing mothers should avoid lavender oil, as should diabetic people. Lavender can also cause allergies in people with sensitive skin, but it is not common to find people with this type of allergy.
