Temazcal, which means steam house, is an invitation to die and be born again. At Lorenza we cultivate rituals that allow us to grow and delve into our personal processes, typical of the human experience. The Temazcal, or steam house, is a dark, round, closed space with an opening that serves as an entrance door. In the middle we find a bonfire that heats the stones and containers with water and medicinal herbs from our garden.
In our own powerful blend of magical herbs, sweet basil, in addition to being a source of vitamin K, beta-carotene and iron, also provides antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. Lemongrass provides us with benefits for healing nervous and gastrointestinal disorders, in addition to being a powerful analgesic and natural diuretic. Peppermint has healing properties for flu, headaches and skin irritations. Sweet chamomile, characteristic for its relaxing properties, is the perfect ending to this steam bath.
For Mexican ancestral wisdom, the Temazcal represents one of the most important ceremonies, as it allows us to leave there what blocks our life processes. It is the space to abandon sadness and be born again with new strength. It is not curious that the Temazcal is associated with the womb, a dark and warm place that prepares us for the new life because it only invites us to feel and listen away, for a while, from the world and its concerns.
This sacred fire represents the God of the sun who radiates his creative energy.
This ritual, suitable for all ages, from children to older adults, is above all an invitation to healing that can be done in a group or individually in a period of one to three hours.
At La Lorenza we believe in the constant renewal of the spirit to become aware of what is inside us.
